Tennessee Business Sustainability Mentoring Program
TDEC’s Office of Policy and Sustainable Practices is pleased to announce the launch of our new pilot program, the Business Sustainability Mentoring Program. On August 1, 2021, TDEC will begin soliciting applications from businesses that meet certain criteria (visit our 2021 Solicitation page for more information on criteria) to participate in the first cohort of the mentoring program. TDEC anticipates reviewing applications and notifying applicants of possible inclusion in the program by September 31, 2021. The first cohort of participating businesses will take place from mid-October through March 2022.
The Tennessee Business Sustainability Mentoring Program will provide a platform through which eligible businesses will participate in a mutual exchange of best practices, training, industrial and regulatory knowledge (where applicable) in order to enhance the overall environmental sustainability goals of the mentee businesses. Both the mentoring and mentee businesses will receive significant and positive recognition through access to branding, promotion on social media, and networking. Additionally, both businesses will benefit from increased knowledge regarding operational sustainability, reduced environmental impacts, process efficiencies, cost savings, and more.
