Public Notice Document

On Thursday, May 30, 2019, the Division of Water Resources will hold a public hearing to receive comments on the application for an Aquatic Resource Alteration Permit (NRS18.288) by the Tennessee Department of General Services.

General Services proposes to install an 18’’ diameter trunk line for approximately 8.7 miles and install an outfall structure in the Mississippi River. The trunk line will begin near the intersection of Highway 59 and Jamestown Road near Gilt Edge (Tipton County) and terminate in the Mississippi River. Proposed waterbody crossings are 16 streams, seven wet weather conveyances (WWC), and four wetlands. Horizontal directional drilling is proposed for stream and wetland crossings and WWCs will be crossed using open-cut trenching. The treated effluent force main outfall will be a Class 56 Ductile Iron Pipe 18’’x14’’concentric reducer and is proposed to be located in the Mississippi River between River Mile M768 and M769.

An information session will begin at 6:00pm and the formal Public Hearing will follow.
