Standards Training 2019

During the 2018-19 school year, the department will offer training on the newly revised Tennessee Academic Standards for social studies and world languages and additional training on the Tennessee Academic Standards for science and math. Register for in-person standards training here. Additional details about the levels of training for each subject area are below.

District training was held in November and December 2018 at five sites across the state.

District training provided district teams with a broad overview of the changes to the Tennessee Academic Standards for social studies and world languages, additional information regarding the science and math standards, and strategies to support schools and teachers in implementing these standards.

School leader training will provide attendees with an overview of changes to the newly revised social studies and world languages standards, as well as information about the standards for science, mathematics, and fine arts. The training will focus on setting expectations for classroom instruction and aligning teacher observation and evaluation with Tennessee’s standards.
