IEA Parent & Student Responsibilities
The decision to enroll a student in the Individualized Education Account (IEA) Program should not be taken lightly. The information on this page includes some of the responsibilities of parents and students participating in the IEA Program (referred to as 'account holders'). This is not a comprehensive list of all parent/student responsibilities; please see the 2023-24 IEA Account Holder Handbook for a comprehensive list and explanation of all the responsibilities of account holders participating in the IEA Program.
By signing the IEA contract, account holders agree to meet the following eight sets of requirements and responsibilities:
- Legal Responsibilities
- Notification Requirements to School Districts
- Notification Requirements to TDOE
- Educational Responsibilities
- Assessment Responsibilities
- Funding Responsibilities and Accountability
- Renewal of IEA
- Fraud Reporting
For more information about the program, please review the IEA Frequently Asked Questions, which will be updated periodically with additional questions and answers.
