Preparing Students for Success

Preparing Students for Success

Tennessee's Career & Technical Education consists of 16 nationally recognized career clusters with the ultimate goal of preparing students for success at the postsecondary level and in their chosen careers.

The application for special programs of study will opens here on Jan. 13 and closes on March 31. Special Programs of Study applications are required for all high school elective courses intended to meet the unique needs of a school or district that cannot be met using the courses and standards included in the Approved High School Courses Policy and listed in the online course catalog

The application questions are provided for your convenience in planning ahead and ensuring that all necessary materials are prepared prior to submitting an application. If your LEA is considering requesting a special course or special program of study approval for 2020-2021, we highly recommend that you review the application questions prior to submitting your application. Please note that there are two applications: one for CTE courses (i.e., Special Programs of Study) and one for all other courses (Special Courses). Information specific to the the special courses application is available on the Course Management and Access page.

For more information about special courses, please review the 2020-21 Special Course and Special Program of Study Applications FAQ document
