How to become a DIDD Provider

Provider Credentialing Process:

“Person-Centered IDD Program Integration: The Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and TennCare are excited to announce that all Medicaid long-term services and supports (LTSS) programs for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), including the Section 1915(c) HCBS waivers, the Employment and Community First CHOICES Program, and Intermediate Care Facility Services for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID) will, for the first time, be aligned under the direct operational leadership, management and oversight of DIDD. The primary goal of this integration will be to finally and fully achieve a single, seamless, person-centered system of service delivery system for people with I/DD that supports them to increase their independence, fully participate in their communities, and achieve their competitive, integrated employment goals.”

Effective 10/1/2021, DIDD will no longer contract with providers to provide services to the participants in the 1915c waiver and the Employment and Community First (ECF) CHOICES program.  Providers may be eligible to contract with each managed care organization (BlueCare, Amerigroup, and United Health Care).

As a result of this change to the credentialing process, all applicants who have not obtained licensure or completed registration in the TennCare Provider Registration Portal, must do so within 30 days of the implementation of the MCO/DIDD Integration date, currently scheduled for 10/1/2021.  This is to allow time for the provider to secure a contract with each MCO.

After 10/1/2021, each applicant must submit a revised Provider Credentialing Application online with attachments, to include required licenses, registrations and documentation, in order to be reviewed and considered for credentialing through DIDD.

The Provider Credentialing Application and instructions are currently under revision.  Please check back soon.
