This conference will be held virtually and at no cost to participants.

How do I know which workshops to take?
if you need help making your workshop selections, please speak with your Foster Parent Support Worker before completing the registration form. Your FPS Worker will be able to assist you in identifying relevant topics and any workshops needed to meet specific training requirements. You can also view the Required Training Chart.

Which trainings are required?
All foster parents must complete the following classes within the first year of approval:
- Creating Normalcy through Prudent Parenting
- What to Know about Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking
- One trauma-informed training
- Kinship parents must also complete Preserving Kinship Families.
Each of these trainings will be offered throughout the conference weekend. Several trauma-informed workshops will be offered; these are identified in the brochure with the statement, "This training fulfills trauma and thereapeutic requirements."
All foster parents must complete Medication Administration Refresher and CPR and First Aid training during the second year after approval and every other year thereafter to maintain foster home licensure. Medication Administration Refresher and CPR and First Aid Virtual Training will be offered at the conference. To fulfill CPR requirements, parents must also complete a 1-hour in-person skills demonstration. This demonstration will be scheduled with the trainer following completion of the virtual component.
Therapeutic foster families must complete an additional 9 therapeutic hours each year, for a total of 24 training hours annually. Therapeutic offerings during the conference are identified with the statement, "This training fulfills trauma and thereapeutic requirements."
