Pre-Approval Training Calendars

Alll prospective traditional (non-kinship) foster parents must attend the Informational Meeting prior to joining a pre-approval training group. Kinship parents are not required to attend the Informational Meeting.

Beginning January 2020, the Department of Children's Services will begin delivering a new pre-approval curriculum for prospective foster parents, Tennessee KEY. New PATH groups will continue to be offered through December 2019.

Traditional (non-kinship) participants may miss no more than one session with their original group, which must be made up before a completion certificate will be given. Missed sessions can be made up with another group or individually with the trainer.

Kinship parents completing traditional training may attend classes with multiple groups in order to facilitate timely certification.

The Informational Meeting attendance certificate is valid for 90 days. If the prospective parent has not joined a pre-approval training group within 90 days of attending the Informational Meeting, the parent must attend another Informational Meeting before joining a group.
