Foster Parent Advocate Program

Foster Parent Advocates are specially trained to assist DCS and Private Provider Foster Parents with policy and practice questions and provide support and representation in grievances and appeals with DCS.

Every Foster Parent has the right to a Foster Parent Advocate for representation and support during a special investigation.

Foster Parents can request an advocate by contacting the regional Foster Parent Support staff person or Tennessee Community Service Agency Program Director Sarah Webb, (865) 314-9422 or Sarah.Webb@tncsa.com.

Foster Parent Mentorship Program

The Foster Parent Mentorship Program connects newly approved foster parents—both traditional and kinship/relative caregivers—with experienced foster parents who provide support, guidance, and education. This program also assists seasoned foster parents who may need additional support in specific areas. As a statewide initiative, the program aims to equip foster parents with knowledge of community resources, encourage active participation in local foster parent associations, and ultimately improve foster parent retention. A strong support system, especially from those who have firsthand experience caring for children in foster care, can lead to a more successful fostering journey.

If you are interested in participating as a mentee in the foster parent mentorship program, complete this form. If you are a foster parent interested in being matched with a mentor, please contact Tennessee Community Service Agency Program Director Sarah Webb at (865) 314-9422 or Sarah.Webb@tncsa.com.
