TDOC B.A.D.G.E. Award

The TDOC B.A.D.G.E. (Bravery, Achievement, Dignity, Generosity, Excellence) is a monthly award that honors and celebrates the unmatched work of TDOC correctional professionals. It is named in honor of Correctional Administrator Debra Johnson, Correctional Officer Wayne “Cotton” Morgan, and Correctional Officer Fredrick Hyatt, who were killed in the line of duty and wore the badge with pride and honor. Their contributions to the Department of Correction and the people of Tennessee continue to have a lasting impact on the work we do each day, and the high caliber at which it is performed.
A B.A.D.G.E. recipient is any employee or team who has gone above and beyond the call of duty and exemplifies the characteristics and qualities of the B.A.D.G.E. While a Team TDOC member’s day is dedicated to improving the lives of others, it is important to acknowledge the work of those who are relentless in our mission of making Tennessee a safer place to live, work, and raise a family.
