Site Description: Hwy 64 travels along the north shore of Parksville Lake. There are several parking areas and a beach access along the lake upstream to Lake Ocoee.

The scenery is top notch for the mountains of Tennessee. There is a National Forest campground just off Hwy 64 (signs are present) that is worth visiting in the warm months of the year.

Wildlife to Watch: In spring and fall, woodland birding can be good, if the car traffic is low.

Brown-headed Nuthatches can be found in the pine areas of the lakeshore.

In winter, the lake is lowered and extensive mudflats are exposed, which provide habitat for Canada Geese, Mallards, and an occasional Tundra Swan like the one that spent weeks here in late 2011.

NOTE:  Some areas are used for recreational purposes.  Please use these links before visiting the location.
