Income Guidelines

WIC Income Eligibility Criteria for 2018-2019

Income eligibility for the Tennessee WIC Program is uniform statewide.  WIC eligibility is determined by the Public Health Office Assistant (PHOA) or clerk in the local health department.**  A participant’s household gross income must be equal to or less than WIC income guidelines (185% of Federal poverty).  Please refer to the table below for WIC Income Eligibility Guidelines for July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020.

Adjunctive Eligibility

Adjunctive Eligibility enables WIC applicants to be automatically income eligible for WIC by showing proof of participation in the following programs:

  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
  • Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF/Families First)
  • Tennessee Medicaid  (TennCare)

WIC Prescreening Tool

Are you eligible for WIC?  USDA's WIC PreScreening Tool can assist you in determining whether or not you are potentially eligible to receive WIC benefits.  Note: This PreScreening Tool is not an application for WIC benefits.
