The Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (TDMHSAS) is Tennessee’s statutory authority in mental health and substance abuse services. The Department plans, provides, and promotes an array of services from prevention and early intervention to resiliency and recovery.  We operate four Regional Mental Health Institutes across the state serving acute, extended, and civil/forensic care patients for evaluation and treatment. Our facilities are fully accredited by the Joint Commission and certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.  Our Central Office in Nashville, Tennessee houses our program, planning, licensure, and support staff.
