Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) Training Simulations
The simulations use interactive virtual humans which allow for practicing SBIRT, motivational interviewing, using assessment tools, and learning to do these within designated timeframes. Conversational simulations are set in clinical, emergency Room/hospital settings, educational and other professional settings. The training is being offered free of charge, and continuing and medical educational units are available upon successful completion of each module.
The available training topics are Screening, Brief Interventions (SBI) Skills Assessments; At-Risk Primary Care; and SBI Adolescents. We offer this to physicians, practitioners, behavioral health specialist, social workers, intake and administrative staff, and other interested community partners throughout the state. Part of our objective is to increase fidelity to the SBIRT model and provide a way to learn and practice related skills.
The training tool is easy to use and can be accessed at your convenience any time day or night. Throughout the learning experience, the simulations offer feedback on what you’re doing well and tips on how to improve your technique.
