If you are a Tennessee healthcare provider, medical worker, first responder, or educator, and you want to talk to someone about feelings of stress, anxiety, sadness, or depression related to your work, the COVID-19 Emotional Support Line is staffed by specially-trained volunteers who can help.*

  • The Emotional Support Line provides free and confidential support, helping callers experiencing increased anxiety due to the coronavirus emergency.
  • The Emotional Support Line is staffed by volunteer mental health professionals.
  • Emotional Support Line volunteers provide short term, non-professional emotional support to the caller.
  • This service does not provide clinical, medical, or therapeutic service.

This phone number provides immediate and live emotional support system for front-line health care workers in Tennessee impacted by COVID-19. Once you call in, you will hear an automated recording describing the service and will be connected to a live volunteer.

Please note that the Tennessee COVID-19 Emotional Support Line for Tennessee Healthcare Providers should not substitute for the Tennessee Crisis Line. If you are in immediate danger and have thoughts of self-harm, please contact the Tennessee Crisis Line at 1-855-274-7471.

You acknowledge that you are voluntarily using the Line.  You accept full responsibility for the consequences of your use, or non-use, of any information provided during your use of the Line.  You agree to use your own judgment and due diligence before implementing any idea, suggestion, or recommendation from the Line.  You fully understand and agree that there are no guarantees as to specific outcomes or results you can expect from using the Line.

By using the Line, you acknowledge and agree that the Mental Health Active Response Team (MHART), the Tennessee Association of Alcohol, Drug & other Addiction Services (TAADAS), the National Association of Social Workers Tennessee Chapter (NASW-TN), the State of Tennessee, the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (TDMHSAS), and their officers, owners, agents, employees, contractors, and/or any volunteers involved with the Line in any manner (collectively, the “Indemnified Parties”), have no liability of any type related to your use of the Line, including but not limited to any decision you make, or a third party makes, as a result of your use of the Line, or because you were not able to access the Line for any reason.  By using the Line, you agree to fully indemnify the Indemnified Parties and hold them harmless for any and all damages or causes of action that may arise out of your use of the Line.  Without limiting the foregoing, in no event shall any of the Indemnified Parties be liable for any special, incidental, consequential, or indirect damages of any type arising from your use of the Line, or for any other reason.  Neither the State of Tennessee nor any of its subdivisions (e.g., TDMHSAS) waive any claim of sovereign immunity or of any other governmental immunity or protection it or any of its officers, employees, or contractors enjoy.

The Line is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.  None of the Indemnified Parties shall be liable for any inability by you to access the Line, including but not limited to interruptions in the Line due to technical reasons or delays to due to a high volume of calls.
