Helping Children at Mountain View Elementary School

Program Description:

In this program, Frontier Health helps children diagnosed with a Serious Emotional Disturbance. Community-based assessment, referral, and coordination of care services are provided at Mountain View Elementary School through the use of a school-based System of Care coordinator and local team made of community partners and parents. Activities include: assisting families with improved parenting skills, encouraging child and family bonding, and engaging families to partner with school staff to achieve academic success.

Eligibility Requirements:

A family is eligible for our services if they have a family member who is a student in grades K-4 at Mountain View Elementary School in Johnson City. This student must be diagnosed with a Serious Emotional Disturbance as defined by the Mental Health Diagnostic Criteria manual. This program also serves younger siblings who are deemed to be at “imminent risk” to developing a mental health disorder.
