Support for Mentors

All mentors will have a support team consisting of 3 contacts that will be provided by the time a match between a mentor and a teen has been made. This contact information will be provided on a “team support card,” and will include the phone numbers of the teen’s DCS case worker, the Youth Villages program counselor and DCS independent living specialist. The team support card should be carried at all times and should be used any time you have a question or need support during your mentoring experience.

Contact us at 1-866/519-LIFT or at tn.lift@state.tn.us.

“We want good folks, from all walks of life, to share some of their time and wisdom with Tennessee’s foster care kids. Every child needs a steady hand to help guide him or her into independent, adult living. By giving our most vulnerable kids – those living in foster care - that support, we boost their chances of successfully transitioning into the grown-up world.”
