Hilliard Reappointed to TPUC

Nashville, Tennessee – (May 4, 2017) Commissioner Herbert H. Hilliard has been reappointed to the Tennessee Public Utility Commission by Governor Bill Haslam. He will serve a six-year term on the Commission which expires June 30, 2023.

Commissioner Hilliard was appointed to the Tennessee Public Utility Commission by the Governor in 2012 and served as the commission’s Chairman from 2014-2016. Prior to his appointment, Commissioner Hilliard served as Executive Vice President and Chief Government Relations Officer for First Horizon National Corporation. In this role, he was responsible for the corporation's lobbying activities at the federal and state levels. Commissioner Hilliard is a 43-year veteran of the company, having joined First Horizon in 1969 after earning a BBA in Personnel Administration and Industrial Relations from the University of Memphis.

"Mr. Hilliard has extensive experience in both the public and private sectors and will continue to be valuable to the TPUC," said Tennessee Senator Delores Gresham, of whom Hilliard is a constituent.

"It is an honor to be reappointed to serve as a Commissioner with the Tennessee Public Utility Commission," said Hilliard. "We will strive to continue to serve the citizens of Tennessee and fulfill our duties as a state commission."
