Do PLA policies differ from department to department?

Can PLA credits be transferred between departments and programs within this institution?

Please note that when you change degree programs or majors, that some courses and credits may no longer be relevant and thus will not transfer.

All PLA credit is transferrable to any program where courses count toward that program. We do not award credit based on program except for one exception. The only exception is the 30 hour block credit we award for the General Technology AAS degree; a student is awarded this credit only if they declare this program of study at NSCC and received a diploma from one the Tennessee Technology Centers.

Generally, general education courses and electives will transfer but courses in the major may not.
