CMS Technical Specification

TennCare Notes

Eligible professionals (EPs) are required to accomplish one of the two public health menu measures. As no public health agency in Tennessee has the capacity to receive syndromic surveillance data from EPs in the standards mandated, EPs should attest to Menu Measure 9, the immunization registry.

Please see the syndromic surveillance fact sheet from the TN Department of Health (TDOH), as well as TDOH’s meaningful use website for public health measures.

As TennCare encourages EPs to select measures for which they have data before claiming exclusions, TennCare discourages attesting to an exclusion for syndromic surveillance to count this measure toward the five required menu measures.
