Long Term Care
What is Long Term Care?
Long-term care includes medical and non-medical care to people who have a chronic illness or disability. It includes help with activities of daily living like dressing, bathing, and using the bathroom. Long-term care can be provided at home, in the community, or in nursing homes.
Long Term Care services are provided through:
- Nursing Homes
- Home and Community Based Services for persons who are elderly and/or physically disabled. This includes the Statewide Elderly and Disabled HCBS Waiver and the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE).
- Home and Community Based Services for persons who have mental retardation or developmental disabilities. This includes the Statewide MR Waiver, Arlington MR Waiver, and the Self-Determination Waiver.
