The Statewide Waiver (0128.R04) serves Tennessee citizens with intellectual disabilities. The waiver offers a broad range of residential, day, therapy, respite, personal assistance, and other services (e.g. environmental accessibility modifications and specialized medical equipment, supplies and assistive technology) to persons who qualify for and who, absent the provision of waiver services, would be placed in an ICF/MR.
The target population consists of children with developmental delays and adults and children with intellectual disability who meet ICF/MR level of care criteria.
The Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (DIDD) serves as the Operational Administrative Agency for this waiver, which is administered under the oversight of the Bureau of TennCare.
To enroll in this program, the participant must:
Live in Tennessee; be financially eligible for Medicaid; meet Medicaid criteria for payment of ICF/MR care and for waiver services; and have a developmental disability, which is defined as a condition of substantial developmental delay or specific congenital or acquired conditions with a high probability of resulting in intellectual disability and be a child five (5) years of age or younger.
If you qualify for care in an ICF/MR, you will have the right to choose between care in the home and institutional ICF/MR care. If you choose to receive HCBS waiver program services in the home, you will still be eligible to receive your regular TennCare benefits.The following waiver services are available based on assessed participant need:
