
The Bureau of TennCare today announced the results of the 2009 HEDIS/CAHPS Report: A Comparative Analysis of Audited Results from TennCare Managed Care Organizations (MCOs). The report shows that TennCare’s Middle Tennessee MCOs performed above – and in many cases significantly exceeded – the 2008 national Medicaid average for measures related to behavioral health as well as drug and alcohol dependence treatment....more
TennCare has begun its Daniels re-verification process. The lifting of the Daniels injunction means the Bureau can now check the eligibility of those in the Daniels class just as it does annually for the other 1.1 million enrollees in the program. Click here for more information.

Notice of Change in TennCare II Demonstration
The Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Finance and Administration is providing official notification, pursuant to 42 CFR 447.205 and 59 Fed. Reg. 49,249, concerning intent to file an amendment to the TennCare II Demonstration and its State plan. TennCare is a government-operated medical assistance program designed for people who are eligible for Medicaid, as well as for some children who do not have insurance. TennCare is a Medicaid waiver, or demonstration, program. Its purpose is to demonstrate that the use of managed-care principles can generate sufficient savings to enable the state to cover more than Medicaid eligible people.
TennCare provides health coverage for 1.2 million low-income children, pregnant women and disabled Tennesseans with an annual budget of $7 billion.
