On April 9, 2010, DentaQuest, TennCare's Dental Benefit Manager, notified the state that a laptop had been stolen from one of DentaQuest's contractors. That laptop contained health information of about 10,500 Tennessee DentaQuest members.
DentaQuest and its contractor are taking steps to prevent this from happening again. Tennessee DentaQuest members who were affected are being offered credit safeguards including continuous credit monitoring for adults, identify theft monitoring for minors, and enhanced identity theft consultation and restoration services. Those affected will be sent a letter in the mail outlining the services being offered by Kroll Fraud Solutions. The letters will be sent to those affected beginning June 14, 2010. The services are free to those affected, but individuals must enroll to participate.
A dedicated call center will be available starting Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. CST for recipients who have questions about this notice and the notices they will receive. Thereafter, normal hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST. Their toll-free number is 1-877-309-0021.
Information about the mailing is also available on DentaQuest's website.
