AN ACT To amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 57, relative to the purchase or possession of alcoholic beverages by persons under twenty-one years of age.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE:

SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 57-4-102, is amended in subdivision (4)(F)(i) by deleting in the first sentence the language "three hundred twenty-five (325)" and by substituting instead the language "two hundred twenty-five (225)".

Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 57-4-102(4)(F)(i), is further amended by adding at the end of the subdivision the following language:

It is the express intention of the General Assembly that the provisions of law concerning the purchase or possession of alcoholic beverages by persons under twenty-one years of age be strictly enforced in such clubs.

SECTION 2. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 57-4-102, is further amended by deleting subdivision (4)(F)(ii) in its entirety and by substituting instead the following:

(4)(F)(ii) The provisions of this subdivision (4)(F) only apply in any county having a population of:

according to the 1990 federal census or any subsequent federal census.

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law, the public welfare requiring it.
