AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 57-1-211; Section 57-1-209; Section 57-3-402 and Section 57-3-404, relative to the responsibilities of the Commission to promulgate rules relative to the conduct of the business of licensees and the responsibilities of the Commission to provide informational material to licensees.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE:

SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 57-1-209, is amended by adding thereto the following additional provision:

The commission may promulgate rules governing the conduct of educational seminars conducted by businesses licensed pursuant to Section 57-3-204 and such regulation may include the transportation and serving for sampling purposes only, alcoholic beverages notwithstanding Sections 57-3-402, and 57-3-404(h).

SECTION 2. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 57-3-402(c), is amended by deleting the period (.) at the end of that subsection, and substituting instead the following:

; (3) Alcoholic beverages transported by a licensee pursuant to the rules and regulations of the commission for the purposes of conducting an educational seminar by a business licensed pursuant to Section 57-3-204.

SECTION 3. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 57-3-404(h), is amended by deleting the period (.) at the end of that subsection and substituting instead the following:

, and except as may be permitted by the regulations of the commission for the purpose of conducting consumer educational seminars by a licensee under Section 57-3-204, conducted on the premises of a business licensed pursuant to Sections 57-4-101 through 57-4-203.

SECTION 4. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 57-1-211, is amended by deleting subsection (c) in its entirety and by substituting instead the following language:

(c) The signs required by this section shall be composed of black, capital letters printed on white laminated paper at a minimum weight of one hundred ten pound (110 lb.) index. The letters comprising the word "WARNING" shall be highlighted black lettering and such word shall be larger than all other lettering on the sign. The size of the sign shall be approximately 13" x 9-1/2".

SECTION 5. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law, the public welfare requiring it.
