Nashville, Tennessee --- The Tennessee Department of Safety Commissioner David Mitchell, Colonel Mike Walker, Representative Tom DuBois (R-Columbia) and Senator Bill Ketron (R-Murfreesboro) will be dedicating part of State Route 50 in honor of the late Trooper Calvin Wayne Jenks. The dedication ceremony will be held Saturday, August 18, 2007 at 9 a.m. in Columbia, TN.

In addition to dedicating a portion of St. Rt. 50, Trooper Jenks’ family will be on hand to receive his award for being named Trooper of the Year for his district.

The department encompasses the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Office of Homeland Security and Driver License Services. General areas of responsibility include law enforcement, safety education, motorist services and terrorism prevention.
