Selmer Drag Racing Mishap News Conference

Nashville, Tennessee --- A News Conference is scheduled for 9:30am Monday, June 18, at THP Jackson District Headquarters, 20 Vann Drive, in Jackson, Tennessee.
Department of Safety Commissioner David Mitchell, Lt. Colonel Danny Wilson and Jackson District Captain Robert Melton will respond to media questions on the mishap involving a drag racing car Saturday night in Selmer, Tennessee.
Officials from the City of Selmer and McNairy County have also been invited.
The Tennessee Department of Safety's mission is (www.tn.gov/safety) to ensure the safety and general welfare of the public. The department encompasses the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Office of Homeland Security and Driver License Services. General areas of responsibility include law enforcement, safety education, motorist services and terrorism prevention.
