Trooper Put On Administrative Leave

Nashville, Tennessee --- Department of Safety Commissioner David Mitchell has placed Trooper James Randy Moss on administrative leave with pay pending an investigation by the Office of Professional Responsibility.

This action comes after the Department of Safety received an internal complaint against Trooper Moss. Both the Office of Professional Responsibility and the Criminal Investigation Division are conducting an investigation into this complaint. The allegations include possible violations of departmental policies and possible criminal violations while on duty.

Pending the investigation, this is all the Department of Safety can release at this time.

The department encompasses the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Office of Homeland Security and Driver License Services. General areas of responsibility include law enforcement, safety education, motorist services and terrorism prevention.
