Nashville, Tennessee --- May is National Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month. The Tennessee Department of Safety, the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the Governor’s Highway Safety Office, Metro Nashville Police and motorcycle clubs across the state encourage motorcycle riders to educate themselves before taking to the roads. There are more than 275,466 motorcycle licenses issued in the state of Tennessee.
A Motorcycle Safety Awareness Event will be held at 2:00pm Sunday, April 22nd at the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy (TLETA), 3025 Lebanon Road in Nashville. In attendance will be THP Captain Thomas “Chip” Miller, Governor’s Highway Safety Office Director Kendall Poole, THP Motorcycle Safety Specialist John Milliken and a spokesman for motorcycle clubs. The purpose of the event and Motorcycle Rider Training is to promote motorcycle safety awareness.
A Motorcycle Rider Education Training will be conducted and open to the media at the 3025 Lebanon Road location from 8am-5pm Sunday.
