Nashville, Tennessee --- The Department of Safety invites the public to an Open House on Friday, March 9, celebrating the new Driver License Station in Franklin, located at 4248 Carothers Road.

The Open House will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. The public is invited and refreshments will be provided.

The new Franklin station, which opened in December, replaced the old station at 718 Boyd Mill Avenue in west Franklin. This facility has more room for customers and staff, and also serves as the county office of the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

The Tennessee Department of Safety's mission is (www.tn.gov/safety) to ensure the safety and general welfare of the public. The department encompasses the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Office of Homeland Security and Driver License Services. General areas of responsibility include law enforcement, safety education, motorist services and terrorism prevention.
