Car Crash With Injury Slows Traffic

Nashville, Tennessee --- The Tennessee Highway Patrol is working a personal injury crash on Westbound I-40 located at mile marker 310. The crash, involving an overturned tractor-trailer, was blocking all lanes of travel near Monterey.
TDOT and THP are working to open one lane but it will be several hours before both lanes are reopened.
The Tennessee Department of Safety's mission is (www.tn.gov/safety) to ensure the safety and general welfare of the public. The department encompasses the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Office of Homeland Security and Driver License Services. General areas of responsibility include law enforcement, safety education, motorist services and terrorism prevention.
