Nashville, Tennessee --- Interim Department of Safety Commissioner Gerald Nicely will speak at the grand opening of the new Washington County Driver License Station on Wednesday, May 3rd. The event will take place at 9:00 a.m. eastern time at 4717 Lake Park Drive in Johnson City.
The Tennessee Department of Safety's mission is (www.tn.gov/safety) to ensure the safety and general welfare of the public. The department encompasses the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Office of Homeland Security and Driver License Services. General areas of responsibility include law enforcement, safety education, motorist services and terrorism prevention.
