Nashville, Tennessee --- The Tennessee Department of Safety reports that technical problems at the Chattanooga/Bonny Oaks Driver License Testing Center have been resolved and the center has reopened.
Additional staff will remain at the Cleveland/Bradley County and Jasper/Marion County Driver License Stations. Customers may now seek services at any of the three locations.
Due to the anticipated increase of customers at the Chattanooga, Cleveland, and Jasper sites, citizens who are seeking only a renewal to their license are encouraged to renew online without waiting by going to the department's website at www.tn.gov/safety. Customers who do not have access to the internet at home may go to a local library branch in order to renew online.
The Tennessee Department of Safety's mission is (www.tn.gov/safety) to ensure the safety and general welfare of the public. The department encompasses the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Office of Homeland Security and Driver License Services. General areas of responsibility include law enforcement, safety education, motorist services and terrorism prevention.
