D.A.R.E. Seminar

Nashville, Tennessee --- Twenty police officers and sheriffs' deputies representing 10 Tennessee law enforcement agencies will graduate from the D.A.R.E (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) Officer Training Seminar on Friday, June 17th. The ceremony starts promptly at 11:00am at the Radisson Hotel at Opryland, 2401 Music Valley Drive, Nashville.

This seminar is the 34 th D.A.R.E. training course conducted by the Tennessee Highway Patrol since 1990. D.A.R.E. is internationally recognized for its success in steering young people away from drugs. The officers who are completing this course have undergone an extensive 80-hour curriculum over the past two weeks.

The Tennessee Department of Safety's mission is (www.tn.gov/safety) to ensure the safety and general welfare of the public. The department encompasses the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Office of Homeland Security and Driver License Services. General areas of responsibility include law enforcement, safety education, motorist services and terrorism prevention.
