File Review and Recommendations of Tennessee Department of Safety Selected Employees
December 22, 2005
Today, I have accepted the report and recommendations from the review panel examining the cases of 41 troopers and dispatchers whose names appeared on a list submitted to the Governor by the Attorney General last month.
The review panel has carefully examined the cases involving these individuals. Based on their findings, I have decided to take immediate action, as follows:
Two of these people are being placed on administrative leave today in anticipation of termination, and we are beginning due process proceedings today. These proceedings will be in accordance with all civil service rules and regulations. The two individuals are Trooper Angelinette Crawford and Sergeant Gregory Badacour.
Regarding the other 39 people on the list, the panel has recommended no additional action. None of these people has a felony conviction. However, some of the offenses investigated by the TBI in this probe, if committed by individuals in the future, may be subject to more serious discipline as we put updated procedures and policies in place.
