Nashville – The Tennessee Department of Financial Institutions (“Department”) issued today an enforcement action against Ocwen Loan Servicing to prohibit the company from acquiring new mortgage servicing rights or originating mortgage loans in Tennessee until it provides the Department with a plan to demonstrate an ability to operate in a sound manner. The action is in conjunction with other actions by regulators around the country.

NASHVILLE – The State Board of Education will hear and discuss the proposed draft of Tennessee Academic Standards for Social Studies at its April 20th workshop. The standards will be voted on first consideration the following day, April 21st.
Members of the Standards Recommendation Committee (SRC), appointed by the Governor, Lt. Governor, and Speaker of the House of Representatives and confirmed by the General Assembly, will present the proposed draft to the Board following an intensive and transparent multi-year review process. SRC members Mr. Jason Roach, Mr. Todd Wigginton, and Mr. Bill Carey will share their perspectives on the SRC’s recommendations and join a discussion of the standards as part of the board’s workshop on April 20th.

The rate is based on a ceiling of 4.00 percent over the weekly average prime loan rate of 4.0 percent as published by the Federal Reserve on April 17, 2017.

ONLY – All three officers assaulted during Sunday’s disturbance at Turney Center Industrial Complex are now recovering at home. Officer Paul Nielsen was released from the hospital Wednesday night, and Officer Jesse Shockley was released this afternoon. Officer Lester Ball was released overnight Sunday. The officers are in good spirits and will continue to recuperate with the full support and prayers of the Department of Correction and the community.
