Division of Mental Health Services

  • Recovery Services
  • Recovery Services is a community-based services division of the Tennessee Department of Mental Health (TDMH). The division creates, expands, and oversees the development, implementation and expansion of quality Support, Employment/Education, Transportation and Housing services and options across Tennessee for persons diagnosed with mental illness or co-occurring disorders.
  • The Division of Recovery Services incorporates and promotes the implementation of prevention and intervention strategies, evidence-based modalities, best practices and targeted outcomes. Another responsibility includes the Behavioral Health Safety Net of TN —a program that provides key mental health services for Tennesseans with serious and persistent mental illness who are uninsured. Community mental health agencies across the state contract with TDMH to provide this limited set of mental health services to assist individuals with serious mental illness in leading functional, productive lives.
