Description

The PPCT Ground Avoidance-Ground Escape Instructor program is designed to teach the student basic, simple, yet effective techniques which are designed to assist the law enforcement officer in either avoiding attacks which tend to result in the officer and suspect going to the ground, as well as techniques to utilize when an officer finds themselves on the ground in a combative situation that will enable the officer to get back to his/her feet.

In keeping with the PPCT philosophy of Law Enforcement Defensive Tactics training, this entire program is based on an officer’s escape from the ground position.  This program does not include any joint lock submission or “choke” techniques, nor will any be taught during the course of instruction.  Each student must attend the program in its entirety, along with passing both a comprehensive written and physical skills exam.  Successful completion will enable the new instructor to return to their respective departments and instruct the (G.A.G.E.) program at the User Level and offer certification.  Students will need to be physically prepared, as this program mandates an abundance of skills practice.
