Description This is an intensive performance-oriented course.  Officers must fire 90% with both pistol and shotgun to successfully complete the program.

State Agencies – $300

County & Local Agencies – $250

Length 40 hours
Prerequisites It is mandatory that officers have their Instructor Development training before enrolling in this school.  A copy of the Instructor Development certificate will need to accompany the “Application for Specialized Training” form when registering with T.L.E.T.A.
Materials Officers must bring their own ammunition for this course. It will consist of the following: 1000 rounds of handgun ammunition, 75 rounds for 12-gauge shotgun birdshot (#7, #8, or #9).  Officers should bring a carbine (preferably an M-4 or similar weapon and 400 rounds of ammunition for that weapon.  Also, officers are to bring a flashlight, safety glasses and bullet resistant vest.  Although not mandatory, it is preferred that the officer bring a laptop to this class.
