Instructor(s) Instructors from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation will teach this class.
Description This will be a two-week comprehensive investigation school tailored for patrol officers who have transitioned into detective/investigator positions.  Officers will tour the TBI Fusion Center and be provided information on databases and resources that are available to law enforcement including: the Sex Offender Registry, the Consolidated Records Management System ICRMS), Gangs, Human Trafficking, the Domestic Terrorism.  Officers will receive training on telephone exploitation (pen register/wiretap), computer forensics, Suicide by Jencks/Giglio, Drug Diversion, HIPAA, and Legislative Updates for Law Enforcement.  Officers will also receive training in death investigations, interview and interrogation, photography, latent prints, firearms, micro analysis, DNA, and sequencing and documenting crime scenes.  In addition, officers will be involved in hands-on exercises during training and will process mock crime scenes.

State Officers – $600

County & Local Officers – $500

Food and lodging is provided; meals will not be provided Thursday evenings and Fridays.

Materials Students should bring a digital camera and appropriate clothing (i.e., jeans/bdu's and tennis shoes/boots) for the second week of class when they will be processing crime scenes inside and outside.
