Program returns 5,321 to work with savings of more than $1.25 million to trust fund

Through the department’s Re-Employment Services Assessment (RESA) program, unemployment claimants who would likely exhaust all of their benefits are selected to work one-on-one with a Career Center interviewer. They agree to an employability development plan, including weekly work search activities. RESA claimants must report to the Career Center once a week for four weeks with documented proof of their work search.

Annual Premium Rate notices will be mailed to employers in early August. The notice will inform each employer of his premium rate effective for the third quarter of 2013.  The notice also includes the amount of premiums paid, any benefits charged to the account, and the average taxable wages through December 31, 2012. These factors determine each employer’s reserve ratio, which, depending on the Premium Table in effect, determines the rate at which an experience-rated employer pays unemployment insurance premiums.
