WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT BOARD TO MEET NASHVILLE - Tennessee's State Workforce Development Board Meeting will meet on Friday, February 27, 2004, at the Chamber of Commerce, 1 West First Street, Cookeville, Tennessee at 8:00 a.m. - 2:15 p.m. The board meeting agenda includes a discussion of the state's workforce development system, an update on the State's Strategic Plan, and partner coordination. The state's WIA program is delivered through the Tennessee Career Center System, which consists of 14 comprehensive career centers and approximately 55 affiliate sites. Services provided include a wide range of job training and employment services for adults, youth, and dislocated workers as authorized under the WIA. Individuals with disabilities who wish to participate in the meeting should contact the Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development to discuss auxiliary aids or other services needed to facilitate such participation. This may be done in person, by writing, telephone, or other means and should be made no fewer than five days prior to the scheduled meeting date to allow time to provide such aid or service.
