Open House Honors Hire Vets First Campaign
Event Planned At Wilson County Career Center
NASHVILLE - The Middle Tennessee Career Center-Wilson County will host an Open House in honor of the Hire Vets First campaign on Tuesday, November 16. The event will be held from noon to 3 p.m. at the Career Center, located at 813 North Cumberland in Lebanon.
Employers, veterans, and leaders of community and veteran organizations are invited.
A Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development veterans' representative is available at the Wilson County and other Tennessee Career Centers across the state. All U.S. military veterans are eligible for job referral and referral to training programs through the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development offices. Our local veterans' staff specializes in matching employer needs with veterans making the transition from military to civilian work. This one-on-one approach helps ensure a better job match for the employer.
Hire Vets First campaign is an effort started by the U.S. Department of Labor to raise employer awareness of the training and skills that veterans possess at all ranks and occupational specialties and of the ways to hire them.
