BLAINE CONSTRUCTION RECEIVES GOVERNOR’S AWARD OF EXCELLENCE
THE COMPANY WORKED SINCE JANUARY 2000 WITHOUT INJURY

NASHVILLE - Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development Commissioner James Neeley announced that Blaine Construction Corporation in Knoxville, Tennessee, was chosen to receive the Governor’s Award of Excellence for Workplace Safety and Health.

The Governor’s Award honors Tennessee employers and employees who meet a required number of hours during a calendar year without workplace injuries serious enough to cause an employee to miss a day of work or restrict his normal job activities. The number of hours required is based on the size of the company.

Blaine Construction is a full-service general contractor that has been in business for more than 39 years. The company performs heavy industrial and commercial projects across the United States and is one of the largest furnish and erect pre-engineered metal building contractors in the nation. Blaine Construction has worked since January 1, 2000, without a lost time or restricted duty injury.

The Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development Safety Awards Program is designed to stimulate interest in accident prevention and to promote safety. The program recognizes manufacturing and construction firms throughout the state that achieve and maintain a safe and healthful workplace.

Commissioner Neeley today presented the Governor’s Award to Blaine Construction President Dorman Blaine and Corporate Safety Director and Field Services Coordinator John Lawhon at the 28 th annual Tennessee Health and Safety Congress held at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville.
