NASHVILLE - Talk directly with employers who are hiring right now at the Professional and Technical Career Expo in Nashville on Wednesday, November 5, 2003, at Nashville State Community College, 120 White Bridge Road. Approximately 25 area employers will be taking applications from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to fill job openings.
This year's expo will highlight opportunities in health care with representatives from companies like Centennial Medical Center, Healthcare Management Systems, Inc., CIGNA Health Care, and Gambro Healthcare.
Professional and technical employers outside the health care field will also be on-site to talk with applicants about available jobs, wage scales, and company benefits. Last fall, the Expo attracted more than 500 jobseekers.
Free workshops will be held throughout the day for applicants needing assistance in interviewing skills, résumé writing, and negotiating the best job offer. The expo will also feature workshops on careers in the health professions such as nursing, occupational therapy, surgical technology, and more.
"This expo features employers who are looking for employees who have education and experience to bring to the table," said Labor & Workforce Development Commissioner James Neeley. "Go to the event with an updated résumé and be prepared to interview on the spot."
The Professional and Technical Career Expo is sponsored by the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce, Nashville State Community College, the Nashville Scene, the Middle Tennessee Career Center, and the Tennessee Biotechnology Association.
