October County Unemployment Rates
Rates increase in 91 counties

NASHVILLE Tennessee's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for October 2005 of 5.6 percent, up from the September revised rate of 5.1 percent, was released on November 17, 2005. County non-seasonally adjusted unemployment rates for October 2005, released today, show that 91 counties increased, one county decreased, and three remained the same.

Williamson County registered the state's lowest county unemployment rate for October at 3.5 percent, up from 3.2 in September. Lawrence County was the state's highest at 13.3 percent, up from 9.4 in September.

Knox County had the state's lowest major metropolitan rate at 4.1, up from the September rate of 3.6. Hamilton County was 4.6 percent, up from 4.4 in September. Davidson was also 4.6 percent, up from 4.2 in September, and Shelby County was 5.9 percent, up from 5.7 in September.
