TOSHA 2008 SPRING SEMINARS
46 SAFETY AND HEALTH SEMINARS OFFERED THROUGHOUT THE STATE
NASHVILLE – Tennessee Occupational Safety and Health Administration has 46 upcoming spring training seminars at several locations throughout the state. The courses will be offered through Tennessee Chamber of Commerce and Industry, University of Tennessee, Motlow and Walters State.
The seminars are open to anyone who is interested in attending. Courses range from ½ day to 4 days and pricing is from $75.00 to $525.00. There are several different classes being offered: TOSHA 101, 30-Hour General Industry, Basic Safety and Bloodborne Pathogens are just a few of the classes to choose from.
“The key to prevention is knowledge and TOSHA is doing everything they can to provide employees and employers with the knowledge they need to prevent workplace safety and health hazards,” said Labor and Workforce Development Commissioner James Neeley.
In 2007, TOSHA had over 400 training sessions with nearly 12,000 attendees. Each year these numbers are continuing to grow and workplace injuries are continuing to decrease. Since the year 2000 TOSHA has nearly doubled their training numbers which has resulted in a 1.6 percent injury reduction rate.
"TOSHA is committed to helping employers and employees have a safe and healthly workplace through training and education,” said Sandra Bennett, TOSHA Training Manager. “TOSHA has excellent trainers who know the requirements in TOSHA standards and regulations and can help you apply them in your facility to prevent injuries/illnesses and save lives. Come work with us!"
