MID SOUTH CAREER CENTER NOW SHOWING ULTIMATE JOB SEARCH TRAINING VIDEOS
TAPES A "MUST SEE" FOR JOB SEEKERS
NASHVILLE - The Mid South Career Center at 111 East Lincoln Street in Tullahoma has new job search training tapes designed to prepare applicants for employment. The Ultimate Job Search for the 21 st Century is made up of five training classes on two VCR tapes. The subjects are; Starting the Job Search, Job Search Techniques, Writing Effective Resumes, Interviewing with Confidence and Success on the Job each part of the five part series has an average run time of 30 minutes. Workforce Solutions purchased the tapes for the Career Center with funds available through the Workforce Investment Act.
The National Veterans Training Institute (NVTI), producer of the videos, was established in 1986 to further develop and enhance the professional skills of veterans' employment and training service providers throughout the United States. The program is funded by the U.S. Department of Labor, Veterans' Employment and Training Service, and administered by the University of Colorado at Denver. The Institute is the only one of its kind in the United States. To date more than 50,000 veterans' employment and training professionals have attended NVTI training including Phil Jones, Disabled Veterans Outreach Specialist and Karen Woosley, Manager of the Mid South Career Center.
The Mid South Career Center provides a variety of services to both employers and job seekers. Information on resume preparation, use of the internet to conduct a job search, job referral services, testing and training, are available. Free access to computers, phones and fax is also available.
