TRC Programs

Vocational Training

Vocational training programs at TRC are designed to provide clients with practical skill training required for employment in their chosen occupation. Clients receive classroom instruction as well as hands on training. Program length for all Vocational Training areas is individualized according to the client's needs.

This program prepares the client for employment in automobile lubrication and detailing with practical hands-on instruction. This program prepares the client for entry-level employment as an Automobile Lubrication Technician, Automobile Detailer, or a Tire Service Technician.

The Building Maintenance training is designed to provide clients with the skills required in the following areas: carpenter, groundskeeping/landscaping, drywall, plumbing, and basic woodworking skills. These programs prepare clients for employment as: Building Repairer, Groundskeeper, Painter Helper, Construction Worker, Drywall Laborer and Electrician Helper.

In the Business Education Training, areas of instruction are designed to prepare clients for entry level employment in a broad range of office occupations. Examples of jobs are: Bookkeeper, Secretary, Accounting Clerk, File Clerk, Receptionist, Word Processor, General Clerk, Document Imaging Clerk, and Medical Transcriptionist.

This program provides areas of instruction that include the following: professional cleaning techniques, restroom cleaning, equipment safety, floor care, and carpet care. Examples of jobs are: Restroom Attendant, Office Cleaner, Commercial Cleaner.

The Food Service program prepares clients for employment as: Cafeteria Attendants, Salad Makers, Cook Helpers, Baker Helpers, Kitchen Stewards, and Fast Food Workers.

The Warehouse Training program prepares clients for employment as: Warehouse Workers, Clerical Warehouse Clerks, Inventory Controllers, Lift Truck Drivers, Counter Clerks, and Order Pullers.

Once it has been established that a client would benefit from services provided by the vocational training unit, the local rehabilitation counselor will submit an application for services along with referral information to the TRC Admissions office.
